Fast X: Plot details

With the recent release of the trailer of the upcoming "Fast X", we finally learn more about what will happen in the upcoming movie.

In the trailer we learn that Jason Momoa's villain, Dante is the son of drug kingpin Hernan Reyes from "Fast Five", and that he had been planning his revenge against Dom and crew for the last twelve years. Dante will be joining forces with Charlize Theron's Cipher in his revenge against Dom.

Rita Moreno makes an appearance as the Toretto grandmother explaining the importance of family to the group - Dom, Mia, Letty, Han, Roman, Tej, Ramsey and 'Little' Brian. Dom also tells Letty that he fears losing the important people in his life including his son 'Little' Brian.

We also see the return of Jakob who will join the crew and seems to have an impressive fight scene when fighting several soldiers.

The trailer also shows Brie Larson's character Tess who is a former representative of Mr. Nobody's agency and joins forces with Dom and his crew. It's possible she could be Mr. Nobody's daughter, Brian's sister or she could betray the team and is the sister of Cipher. We get glimpse of Alan Ritchson's character Aimes, who is the replacement to Mr. Nobody, but doesn't hold the same fondness for Dom and his crew as his predecessor did. So I guess he'll initially go after the crew as well as Dante, but will eventually join forces with Dom, idk. Daniela Melchoir will play a street racer who has a powerful tie to Dom, could she be Elena's sister?

Deckard Shaw returns and it looks like he'll be teaming up with Han.

Overall the trailer looks great and will look to be an improvement over it's predecessor.

2023: The Year of Statham

In recent years, Jason Statham has become one of Hollywood's most bankable action stars, starring in action-driven films like "The Mechanic" (2011) and its sequel in 2016, The Expendables franchise, "The Meg" (2018), "Spy" (2015) and "Wrath of Man" (2021). He is also part of the "Fast & Furious" franchise appearing in five, soon to be in 6 of the soon-to-be-10 movies. But in 2013, he will be starring in four movies and these include "The Meg 2:The Trench", "The Expendables 4", "Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre" and of course "Fast X"

The Expendables 4 will se Statham returning alongside Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture as the infamous mercenary team with Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, Tony Jaa, Megan Fox, Iko Uwais and Andy Garcia joining the cast. This film is said to be Stallone's send-off from the series allowing Statham to potentially take over. Will be released on September 22nd, 2023.

"Operation Fortune" will be the fifth collaboration between Statham and director Guy Ritchie. The film is said to involve around Statham's MI6 agent and his team of operatives recruit one of Hollywood's big movie stars to stop a billionaire arms dealer from selling a deadly weapons technology that could threaten the world order. Along side Statham,  Aubrey Plaza, Josh Hartnett, Bugzy Malone, Hugh Grant and Cary Elwes will round out the cast. Initially the movie was set to be released in March 2022, but was pulled, apparently because of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, thus speculating it's because there are Ukrainian baddies in the film.

The first movie was a surprise hit and the studio wanted to a sequel with Ben Wheatley in the director's chair, Statham also reprises his role as Jonas from the first movie, no plot details though.

Lastly there is "Fast X" which will see Statham reprise his role as Deckard Shaw. His involvement was teased in the Post-Credit Scene of the last movie which see him come face-to-face with Han (Sung Kang), the man who he thought he had killed. In June 2022, his involvement was further teased by cast member Tyrese Gibson, but it's unclear if his role will be as large as the film will have a large cast including Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, John Cena, Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kang, Scott Eastwood, Jason Momoa, Helen Mirren, Brie Larson, Alan Ritchson, Rita Moreno and Charlize Theron.

Fast X: Cast Recap

 Returning

Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto: Diesel will be back behind the wheel, leading his team to mew places and saving the world from Cipher for the third time

Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz: Rodriguez has stated that production went well after Justin Lin's departure and has since praised director Louis Letterer for his direction and wrapped her scenes in July 2022.

Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce: Gibson has stated the series will return to the roots of the first movie

Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges as Tej Parker

Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto O'Conner: Initially, Brewster was excluded from the original script of "Fast X", but her involvement was saved by Diesel at the last minute.

John Cena as Jakob Toretto: Cena's involvement was confirmed way back in June 2022, in which he was photographed with co-star Jason Momoa and was photographed again (along with Scott Eastwood) in August 2022 in Los Angeles.

Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey: Emmanuel has since stated that Ramsey will be more involved and expanded upon in the upcoming sequel

Sung Kang as Han Lue: The snack eating member of Dom's team is back after his return in "F9" and it seems like he has some unfinished business.

Scott Eastwood as Little Nobody: Eastwood was confirmed way back in May, but did not begin filming his scenes until late-July of this year so I guess his character got a promotion since Kurt Russell is so far not in the film. He is said to be involved in a highway scene that involves Diesel, Brie Larson, Jason Momoa and Alan Ritchson.

Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw: His involvement was most recently confirmed by Tyrese Gibson on Instagram back in June, so his situation with Han will likely be resolved, not sure if he'll have an extended cameo or large role.

Charlize Theron as Cipher: The evil mastermind is back, Theron had wrapped her scenes way back in July, to film another project, but she'll be teaming with Momoa for the upcoming sequel.

Helen Mirren as Queenie Shaw: The legend is back, her involvement was confirmed by Diesel in July 2022, hopefully she'll have another scene with her on-screen son Statham.

Cardi B as Leysa: Diesel had confirmed that Cardi B would be back in June 2021, however no sign of her on set (as of yet)

New Cast Members

Jason Momoa as the main villain: Momoa will be teaming up with Theron's Cipher and has described his villain as flamboyant and like a peacock, so this will be a completely different role for Momoa.

Brie Larson as Tess: Larson had recently confirmed her character name as Tess, but no other details whether she's a new ally or enemy, but one could assume that she could be the sister of Brian O'Conner

Alan Ritchson as Agent Aimes: Ritchson's role is said to be a substantial one as he filmed his scenes from May to August and has been seen in a few videos with cast member Vin Diesel, so we can assume that he will be a new ally.

Daniela Melchoir: This is a tricky one, but it seems that she'll be another ally to Dom and co.

Rita Moreno: The legendary actress will be playing the grandmother of the Toretto siblings

Set pics, casting confirmations and updates

I have been out of action for the last few weeks but here are a bunch of new set images. From the images, first is one from a video from Vin's IG account that features Alan Ritchson, who is wearing some stealth gear assuming that he's working alongside Dom and crew, the second one confirms that John Cena, who is pictured with Momoa, will be reprising his role as Jakob in the upcoming, the next one is from another video from Vin's IG account that veteran actress Rita Moreno will playing the Toretto grandmother, which is interesting and the last one confirms that Jason Statham will be back in the main series.

Charlize Theron is said to have finished shooting her scenes as she is preparing to film a sequel to 2020's "Old Guard", as for Scott Eastwood, he is currently filming a movie in Greece with Jamie Foxx and Robert DeNiro which is set to wrap in July, however it's unclear whether he shot his scenes at the beginning or he will film later, which is likely, so he could have a role similar to Han in "F9". I would doubt that he shot anything before Lin departed and was already in Greece when Louis Letterer was brought on board.
