Fast X - Part 2: Will It Happen

We were supposed to get Fast X - Part 2 of April this year, but last year it was postponed to next year thanks to the Writer's Strike which happened in mid-2023. Now it looks like it would not be released in 2026 and both Universal and Vin Diesel are not seeing eye-to-eye with each other on which direction to take the final instalment.

In July 2027 at FuelFest in which Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson and the late Paul Walker's brother Cody made appearances, Diesel had stated that the upcoming 11th instalment would be released in April 2027, claiming the film would go back to the roots of the franchise, while also saying that Paul's character Brian O'Conner was due to return.

But in October 2025, a report from the Wall Street Journal said that a spokesperson for Universal confirmed that the film had no release date and was facing potential cancelation due to Universal unwilling to greenlight it if the budget goes over $200 million. The studio also wished to either cut screentime from members of the cast, or remove them entirely from the film since no deals were signed and reduce the number of stunts. But in the last few months, Diesel stated that the budget had been solved and production would start before the end of the year. In an Instragram post from Diesel, he revealed that the script exists and would be titled "Fast Forever", so let's hope things turn out okay and they could wrap up this saga soon rather than later.
