Agent Aimes Undercover Theory

 

At the end of "Fast X", it’s revealed that Aimes has been working for Dante the whole time since “Fast Five” and the agency is fractured with Mr. Nobody absent/MIA and Little Nobody out of action/injured/dismissed, the Agency would now be corrupt or fractured.

However this is an interesting but ridiculous theory I came across

this is might be all a ploy by Mr Nobody. This is the kind of shit he'd pull. Having his best agent go undercover for ten years to get close to Dante. The thing about Mr Nobody is that he has this uncanny ability to know things he shouldn't possibly know. I mean Jakob was one of his agents until he went rogue, I wouldn't be surprised if he'd been watching Dom and his crew for years before he made his approach in Fast 7.

I think it was all a long con set up by Mr Nobody, Aimes and Jakob. Mr Nobody sends Aimes undercover to get close to Dante and he has Jakob go rogue to get close to Otto. Why? I don't know. But I think that in the end there's gonna be a twist where we learn that Dante and Otto were all working for the real big bad, someone who Mr Nobody isn't allowed to legally bring down. Plus with Gisele coming back and her being one of Mr Nobody's agents too, and Cipher seemingly knowing she was alive (she didn't look surprised at the end), I think Mr Nobody and Cipher have probably struck a deal.

I don't think it will be Eteon or The Director, but I think the bad guy will have close ties to them. This is all just speculation, but par for the course with these films. I know one thing for certain though, Mr Nobody isn't dead. He's faked his death and is playing the long con.

Fast X spoilers and what to expect from Fast 11

So "Fast X" has been out for nearly two weeks, and I have already reviewed the film. Here I'll be taking about the film's plot, ending and what I would expect from the  11th instalment.

In "Fast X", we open with a flashback in Rio, 2011, with Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) dragging the money vault from Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida) and this is all witnessed from Reyes' son Dante (Jason Momoa), until he is hit by the vault, throwing him into the water.

In the present day, a few years after the events of "F9", Dom has a family BBQ outside the now-rebuilt house. Present are his wife Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), son Brian Marcos (Leo Abelo Perry), sister Mia (Jordana Brewster), Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson), Tej Parker (Ludacris), Han (Sung Kang), Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel) and grandmother Aubilita (Rita Moreno). The group inform Dom and Letty that the agency has assigned them on a mission in Rome, but Dom and Letty stay behind. Later that night, a wounded Cipher (Charlize Theron) arrives at the Toretto house, and informs Dom about Dante through a flashback, when Dante offered her a partnership in his revenge against Dom, but realizes that the two have different interests and turns her team against her by revealing he had members of their family held hostage. Cipher's team attacked, but she was able to hold back and escape so she could warn Dom and Letty of an incoming war. The next day, Dom and Letty call Little Nobody (Scott Eastwood) who arrests Cipher and verifies the story, however he reveals that the Agency has no missions in Rome, and Dom and Letty realize that their team has been set up by Dante.

In Rome, Dante locks Ramsey and Tej inside a truck containing a bomb, and begins setting off multiple expolosions, which are blamed on the team. Roman, Tej, Han and Ramsey go underground while Dom, Letty and Little Nobody try to stop the bomb, Little Nobody is nearly killed by Dante, but is saved by Letty before the bomb on his truck goes off. Letty is then arrested, while Dom is able to push the bomb into the river, to mitigate the effects, yet still causing a fair amount of damage to Rome. Little Nobody is stripped away from the Agency and goes into recovery and Agent Aimes (Alan Ritchson), the Agency's new leader following Mr. Nobody's disappearance, believes that Dom and his team are responsible for the bombing and begins a manhunt, attaching a multi-million dollar bounty. The team are labelled as terroritsts, Letty is taken to a blacksite prison and Roman and the rest of the team hide in London. 

As Dom reflects on the damage in Rome, he is confronted by Queenie Shaw (Helen Mirren). He asks Queenie to deliver a message to Mr. Nobody, but is unable to do so. 

Back in LA, Little B and Mia are ambushed by members of the Agency, but are saved by Jakob (John Cena), who was called by Dom to protect Litte B and go the the rendezvous in Portugal, Jakob encourages Mia to hide while he protects Little B.

In Naples, Dom meets with Tess (Brie Larson), Mr. Nobody's daughter, who reveals that Dante is in Rio. She then warns him that Aimes is coming after him with everything. He requests Tess' help freeing Letty from prison and she discovers that Letty is being held in a blacksite prison in Antarctica where she visits her and stabs her so she can be transported to a medical facility where Cipher is being kept. A scuffle ensures between Letty and Cipher and the two agree to work together to escape. 

In London, Roman, Tej, Han and Ramsey discover that their bank accounts have been drained by Dante, and meet with her old friend Bowie (Pete Davidson), who tries turning them in for the bounty. Han then suggests that theytry getting help from Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), and when Han arrives on his doorstep, Deckard believes that he is here for revenge, and the two fight, but are amushed by Agency members, Han and Deckard make amends and fight off the Agency. The group then realizes that not only is Dante tracking them down, but tracking down their past allies as well including Deckard's mother, Queenie. Deckard then leaves to go rescue her. In Rio, Dom meets with Dnate for the first time and Dante challenges him to a street race in which an old friend of Dom, Diogo (Luis DaSilva) is killed in an explosion triggered by Dante. Dom is able to stop Dante from killing the other racer, Isabel Neves (Daniella Melchoir), the sister of Elena, from the same fate. Isable then returns the favor to Dom by giving him her sister's old police files on Dante. Dom then discovers that Dante still owns the Police station where the vault was stolen from and goes there to find more information. Along the way he is pursued by Aimes who is stopped by some locals. Dom arrives at the police station and finds Dante's vision board and discovers that he is tracking all of his crew and old allies. He is then apprehended by Aimes, and along the way, they are ambushed by Dante, who has captured Isabel, Dom and Aimes work together to fight Dante and Aimes, Tess arrives to help, but Dante wounded Aimes and Tess and steals the God's Eye from Tess. Isable takes Tess to the hospital. 

In Portugal, Jakob and Little B flee from Dante's men in a modified cannon car and Dom arrives with Aimes on a plane and lands his car on the highway to join Jakob and Little B in stopping Dante, who then kidnaps Little B. When Dante's men  begin overpowering the two Toretto brothers, Jakob sacrifices himself in an explosion to allow Dom rescue Little B, Dom then rescues his son and Dante crashes so he could meets Aimes at an airstrip along with the rest of his team. Dom is then boxed in but to remote-control semi trucks by Dante. Roman and the rest of the group arrive on a plane, but it's revealed to be a trap when Aimes is revealed to be a double-agent in cahoots with Dante since 2022 and shoots one of the planes engines causing the plane to crash, leaving the fates of Roman, Tej, Han and Ramsey unknown. Dom then drives off the edge of the bridge and land safely in the water, but Dante reveals that the dam is rigged with explosives and sets them off leaving Dom and Little B's fates unknown. Back in Antartica, Letty and Cipher have escaped the facility, and cross over a mountain where they see a submarine rise below the ground and a woman emerges watching them with binoculars. The woman is revealed to be Gisele (Gal Gadot), who surived the events of the sixth movie.

In post-credits scene, Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) is investigating an abandoned theatre and receives a call from Dante, who warns Hobbs that he was the one who killed his father and not Dom who crashed the car and he will be coming for him next. Hobbs tells him that he isn't hard to find and crushes the phone.

TBH, I was surprised that Gisele would return, since Gal Gadot had moved on, but I guess death doesn't seem to apply in Dom's family/team.

Little Nobody having a small role could imply that he'll be back in "Fast 11" to help Dom stop Dante and Aimes, maybe having both him and Tess rebuild the agency, but I have a theory on Aimes that will talk about in another post. 

As for Jakob, even though director Louis Leterrier and John Cena have ensured that Jakob is dead, I don't think he is, since we didn't see a body and in the desert scene, his car is more than likely fireproof. He was already introduced in "F9", so killing him off sooner is a bit of a copout IMO, also Cena is a big star and was groomed to be Brian O'Conner's replacement in the series. It would also be a missed oppertunity to not have him share the screen with Hobbs. 

As for the other team members, I do think that they survived the crash, we don't see the plane for a few seconds before the explosion so they must have gotten out, also it would be a bad move to kill Han again.

With photo appearances from past characters like Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendes), Suki (Devon Aoki), Sean Boswell (Lucas Black), Leo (Tego Calderon), Santos (Don Omar), Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell), Elle (Anna Sawai) and Buddy (Michael Rooker), hopefully these characters will be back.

I'm glad that Vin and Dwayne have reconciled and will do another Fast movie.

The 11th, I would like to see another villain work with Dante and Aimes, maybe an past villain like Verone who would have funding his revenge plan, or maybe a new villain played by Robert Downey Jr that Vin had mentioned in the past.

Another actor I would like to see join is Henry Cavill as the British equivalent of  Hobbs, who would be working with him to stop Dante.

The planned release is 2025.   

Fast X (2023) Review

"Fast X" is the tenth instalment of the "Fast & Furious" franchise, released over a week ago and has grossed over 500 million (so far), it's intended to be the first of a two (maybe three) part finale. The film features several returning cast members, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges", John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Scott Eastwood, Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren and Jason Statham with new cast members including Jason Momoa as the film's main villain, Alan Ritchson, Brie Larson, Daniela Melchoir and Rita Moreno. The film is directed by Louis Leterier, who replaced veteran director Justin Lin during filming.

In this entry, Dominic Toretto (Diesel) and his family come face-to-face with Dante Reyes (Momoa), the sociopathic, sadistic son of drug lord Hernan Reyes from "Fast Five", who threatens to destroy what they hold dear. The action sequences are an improvement over the previous film with high-speed car chases and intense hand-to-hand combat and heart stopping stunts that would leave audiences breathless. While the story works, it bounces back-and-forth between character subplots, but it didn't stop me from liking the film and some characters have limited screentime including Jordana Brewster's Mia, Scott Eastwood's Little Nobody and Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw, but hopefully we'll see more of them in "Fast 11".

The film has strong performances by Diesel, leading the charge as Dom Toretto, and the supporting cast is equally impressive with stand-outs by returnees Michelle, Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris. Nathalie Emmanuel's Ramsey, while she doesn't get any big stand out scenes aside from the Rome sequence, they give her character growth, which I thought was nice, Charlize Theron finally kick ass in this series and I like that, also another character they improved upon is John Cena's Jakob Toretto, they turned him from being a deadpan-assassin Toretto brother to a fun-loving uncle and seemed to have fun playing this role. Now for the new cast members, both Brie Larson and Daniela Melchoir, while I was surprised that both didn't have that big of roles than I would think, they gave solid performances with heart, one of the standout newcomers is Alan Ritchson as Agency leader, Aimes, he was fun, cool, and great lines, kind of reminded me of Hobbs from "Fast Five", but the actor who stole the show was Jason Momoa as Dante Reyes, he brings the role with energy like nothing he has done before, he is also the series' best villain alongside Carter Verone from "2 Fast 2 Furious", There's perhaps no better way to describe him than the Fast and Furious franchise version of the Joker. There's no doubt he studied Ledger's performance when preparing for this role. Momoa is simply fantastic, he steals every scene he is in and when he's not on screen you want him back.

Overall, Fast X is a must-see for fans of the franchise and action movies in general. It is a high-octane thrill ride that never lets up, and it manages to improve upon the kinda-disapointing "F9.
